Tenorio Repeats as GNAC Rookie of the Week

WINTRHOP, Mass. – For the second straight week Sunjoon Tenorio of the Suffolk men's soccer team garnered GNAC Rookie of the Week status after a seven-point week that helped the Rams go 1-1, the league office announced Monday.

Tenorio's second consecutive conference weekly accolade is the third nod for the Rams' this season with Steven Lopez taking home GNAC Goaltender of the Week Sept. 30.

Tenorio opened the week with a one-goal, one-assist performance in 5-2 non-league setback at Wentworth.

On Saturday, the Rams rookie stretch his point streak to four straight with a two-goal career-high outing in a 2-1 overtime thriller over Regis. In front of Suffolk's home crowd, Tenorio put the blue-and-gold on the scoreboard 4:46 into the conference clash and netted the game winner 1:35 into the extra session to secure the victory.

The OT win over the Pride pushed Suffolk to a 4-6-1 on the season and 3-4-0 against conference competition. Tenorio has had a hand in each of the Rams' triumphs, scoring all four of the game-winners. Overall, he has scored eight goals and assisted on two others for a team-high 18 points.

Tenorio and the Rams are back in action today in a Monday, Oct. 14 matinee when they step out league play against Mitchell.
