BOSTON – Suffolk men's soccer found itself in a four-goal hole after the first 45 minutes it never climbed out of as Wentworth prevailed in the non-conference Boston battle, 5-2, Tuesday night at Sweeney Field.

HOW IT HAPPENED
Wentworth scored in four-minute increments over the first 10 minutes to quickly take a two-goal advantage. Erik Treble put the Leopards on the board off John Dauphin's throw in just 4:13 into the non-conference contest. Four minutes and seven seconds later Nathan Gosselin found the back of the net on a centering pass from Griffin Price.   

Kyle Rosa continued to be peppered by WIT attempts. The freshman keeper turned aside three of the Leopards attempts to keep the two-goal distance intact for nearly 10 minutes. Wentworth's fourth attempt in that time frame got past Rosa's gloves, however, as Drew DeCoste let a shot from the top of the box fly to push Wentworth's advantage to three. Dauphin picked up his third point of the night on the play with the assist.  

DeCosta snuck a shot inside the left posted 4:42 later to stretch the Leopards lead even further. Price aided to the marker that made it 4-0 Wentworth game.  

Suffolk sat in the four-goal deficit as the teams headed to the locker room for the intermission.  

The Rams wasted little time out of half time to chip away at the gap as Sunjoon Tenorio scored 1:44 into the second stanza. Jackson Hines' long free kick led to Tenorio's sixth goal of the season, a header that pulled the blue-and-gold within three, 4-1.   

The three-goal margin did not last long as Cameron Pacheco answered Tenorio's strike with one of his own in the 53rd minute. Alex Moore slid a pass across the box to help Pacheco push the WIT's cushion back to four, 5-1.  

Ten minutes later James Fisher's marker put the Rams back within three. This time Tenorio set-up the score that was put away by Fisher' boot to the left side of the net.  

From there, Rosa gobbled up the last Leopards' attempt on net to keep Suffolk within striking distance. The Rams' offense was limited to two shots down the stretch with only one going on target. Nick Barner was there to pick up the pieces to keep the final 5-2 in Wentworth's favor.

• Tenorio had a hand in each of Suffolk's goals, scoring one and assisting on the other. 
• Fisher potted the other Rams' strike.

• Wentworth held the upper hand in shots, 15-11, shots on goal, 11-7, and corners, 3-1. 

NOTEWORTHY

• Suffolk and Wentworth met for the first time. 
• Rosa made his first start in net for the Rams. 
• Tenorio had one goal and one assist in the same game for the first time in her collegiate career. 
• Tenorio is on a three-game point streak. Over that stretch, the rookie recorded eight points on three goals and a pair of set-ups. 
• Fisher netted his first goal of the season. 
• Hines handed out his first assist of the year.
