Men’s Soccer Closes GNAC Action with 2-0 Loss at Norwich

STANDISH, Vt. – Norwich shutout Suffolk men's soccer, 2-0, Saturday afternoon at Sabine Field as the Rams wrapped up their 2018 GNAC calendar.

HOW IT HAPPENED
Amerle Nemeye put Norwich on the scoreboard 19 minutes into the action as the freshman got past Tom Bennett with an unassisted score. 

The Cadets held onto 1-0 into the half and added onto it in the 60th minute with an unassisted strike from Alex Brannan. 

Suffolk's attempts were limited and Brendan Germano's gloves stopped all four the Rams shots on frame to secure the shutout for the cadets. 

KEEPING UP WITH THE KEEPERS

  • Bennett made four saves over 72 minutes of action.
  • In relief, David Haines stopped all three shots he faced.
  • Germano picked up four saves for Norwich. 

STATISICALLY SPEAKING

  • Shots were lopsided in Norwich's favor, 16-8, with the Cadets putting nine of their attempts on net.
  • The Cadets also held the edge in corners, 6-1.
