STANDISH, Maine – Sophomore midfielder JoJo Strobino snapped a scoreless stalemate with a goal off a corner kick in the 63rd minute to lift top-seeded Saint Joseph's (Maine) past #8 Suffolk, 1-0, in a hotly-contest GNAC Men's Soccer Tournament Quarterfinal at SJC Athletics Complex Sunday afternoon.

HOW IT HAPPENED
The Monks outshot the Rams by a 30-7 margin and had a handful of scoring opportunities thwarted by Suffolk sophomore keeper Jon Brodeur, who finished the contest with 13 saves in a losing effort.

Less than a minute after junior Brett Mattos clanged a header off the crossbar, sophomore Cody Elliott sent a corner kick into the box, where the ball was flicked forward by sophomore Noah Robinson to Strobino, who was stationed near the right post and headed in his first goal of the season.

With just seven seconds remaining, the Rams came within inches of tying the game, as a free kick taken by sophomore Felipe Ucros was headed for the upper 90 on the right side before SJC junior goalie Blake Mullen punched the ball safely away.
