Hines’ Header Sends Men’s Soccer Past Lasell, 3-2, Secures GNAC Playoff Spot

NEWTON, Mass. – With eight seconds remaining in regulation and the score locked at 2-all, Jackson Hines buried a header off a Rams' corner to push the Suffolk men's soccer team over Lasell, 3-2, Tuesday afternoon at Taylor Field to clinch a GNAC playoff spot for the rams.

HOW IT HAPPENED
Suffolk grabbed an early one-goal lead and kept it that way throughout the first frame.

Alex Desaulnier pushed the Rams advantage to two 20 minutes into the second half, but Lasell stormed back. The Lasers netted two goals within a 4:43 span to make things interesting.

With overtime looming, Suffolk had a corner kick opportunity and took advantage. Christian Restrepo lofted the rock into a group in front of the Lasers' net and Hines connected to make it a 3-2 Suffolk game with just eight seconds in regulation to spare.

GOALS

  • Felipe Ucros opened the scoring in the 15th minute. On a feed from Sal Perrotto, the sophomore beat the defender and finished in the bottom left to put the Rams on the scoreboard early.
