Norwich Stumps Men’s Soccer, 5-2

EAST BOSTON – Suffolk men's soccer fell behind 3-0 early and could not make up enough ground as Norwich went on to take a 5-2 win over the Rams in the third annual Rams Fan Fest at James A. Sartori Stadium at East Boston Memorial Park Saturday afternoon.

HOW IT HAPPENDED
Luke Gleadle completed a natural hat trick over the first 18:08 of action to give the Cadets a 3-0 cushion. Jack O'Connor connected on a penalty margin to trim the margin to two goals before halftime.

Norwich tacked on two more scores in the second stanza with strikes from Carlos Guerra and Colin Lozito to stretch the distance to four goals, 5-1. With under a minute remaining, Alex Desaulnier put the rock into the back of the net for the final 5-2 tally.

KEEPING UP WITH THE KEEPERS

  • Kyle Van Cleef made three stops in the setback, slipping to 2-5-1 on the season.
  • Brendan Germano made four saves in the victory to improve to 7-3-4 overall.
  • Ryan Fitzpatrick also defended the net for the Cadets.

STATISCALLY SPEAKING

  • Suffolk held a 13-12 edge in shots and had all three corners in the contest.
