
YARMOUTH, Maine – In a battle with two of the top GNAC teams, the Suffolk men's soccer team came out on the wrong side of a 1-0 decision as Saint Joseph's (Maine) snuck past the Rams, 1-0, at Yarmouth High School Wednesday night.

HOW IT HAPPENED
After a scoreless first half, which saw Suffolk outshoot the Monks, 9-8, with three shots on net, Saint Joseph's turned up the volume in the second stanza. Mid-way through the second 45, Brett Mattos found the back of the net for the Monks. Mitchell Duncan set up the score after a Rams' foul. Down the stretch, Suffolk was only able to get one more attempt on target, but Blake Mullen made the saves to seal up the 1-0 shutout.

- Jon Brodeur matched a career-high nine saves in the setback.
- Mullen turned aside six Suffolk attempts to take the 1-0 win.

Suffolk concludes its regular season home slate Saturday, Oct. 22 as the Rams entertain Rivier at James A. Sartori Stadium at East Boston Memorial Park. Prior to the 1 p.m. kickoff, Suffolk will honor the playing career of its five graduates.
