2016 SUFFOLK MEN'S SOCCER SCHEDULE

BOSTON – The Suffolk men's soccer program has released its 2016 schedule, with 10 games set to be played in East Boston.

The 2016 slate opens at East Boston Memorial Park against Newbury Thursday, Sept. 1, marking the second straight year the Rams will play on their home turf in the first game of the season.

After hosting UMass Dartmouth in Eastie Sunday, Sept. 4, Suffolk hits the road for the first time in 2016 when it travels across town to Pine Manor Wednesday, Sept. 14, before opening its GNAC campaign at Albertus Magnus Saturday, Sept. 10.

The Rams will close out September with a four game homestead that features contests against Lesley (Sept. 12), Regis (Sept. 17), who will join the GNAC contingent in 2017-18, Salve Regina (Sept. 19) and closes out the stretch with a rematch against reigning conference champion and 2015 NCAA participant Johnson & Wales (Sept. 24).

Suffolk remains at home to open October action as the Lasers of Lasell stop by James A. Sartori Stadium Saturday, Oct. 1.

A see-saw of two road and home games follow over the next two weeks with visits to Mount Ida (Oct. 5), Norwich (Oct. 8), Springfield (Oct. 17) and Saint Joseph's (Maine) (Oct. 19) sandwiching home contests against Emmanuel (Oct. 10) and Anna Maria (Oct. 15).

The home finale is staged for Saturday, Oct. 22 in an afternoon showdown with Rivier, before the Rams' regular season closes at Dean Tuesday, Oct. 25.

All, but one letterwinner from a team that clawed its way into the conference post season tournament a year ago, making the program's eighth trip in the last nine seasons. The returners include senior Ben Daniels, an all-conference third team selection at defense and Suffolk's top offensive threat sophomore Jordan Casey, who led the Rams' in goals (3), assists (4) and points (10) as a freshman in 2015.
