The Suffolk University Men's Soccer team topped Anna Maria College by a 5-2 score on Monday afternoon in Great Northeast Athletic Conference (GNAC) action.

Junior Alberto Bittan (Caracas, Venezuela) notched his first career hat trick in the win for Suffolk who improves to a 3-2-1 record in GNAC play and 5-6-1 overall record.

Bittan would open the scoring in the twentieth minute of the game when he was led up field by a long pass from sophomore Ben Daniels (Nantucket, Mass.). After making a couple shifty moves in front of the net, Bittan would strike for his first goal of the contest.

It would only take two minutes for Bittan to strike again, this time as he took a feed from senior Juan Lazcano Bello (Madrid, Spain) to build the 2-0 lead.

The AMCATS would cut Suffolk's lead in half when freshman Jon Isperduli (Paxton, Mass.) got a look on a wide open net. Freshman Christopher Ortiz (Worcester, Mass.) would lure Suffolk junior goalkeeper Nicholas Chamma (Rio de Janero, Brazil) away from the goal outside the box and find Isperduli all alone who headed in his third goal of the year.

In the fifthy-third minute of the game Bittan would record the hat trick when he tipped in a ball that started on a free kick from the forty yard line by Daniels. The goal was Bittan's team leading ninth of the season.

Suffolk would score two more goals in the second half.

Junior Tyler Parmelee (Colchester, Conn.) netted his first goal of the season when he rifled a shot from the twenty yard line that deflected off an AMCATS' defender and found it's way into the goal.

Lazcano Bello would round of the scoring charge for Suffolk when he took a lead pass from freshman Juan Ucros (Guatemala, Guatemale) in the seventy-first minute.

Anna Maria would tack on a goal in the closing minute of the contest. Sophomore Chistopher Mattioli (Sturbridge, Mass.) would tally his team leading fifth goal of the year when sophomore David Poirier (Feeding Hills, Mass.) set him up for the score.

The loss drops Anna Maria to a 2-11 overall record on the season and 1-5 mark in GNAC play.

The AMCATS will be back in action on Friday afternoon when they host Albertus Magnus College in GNAC action at 5:00pm.

Suffolk will be idle until Saturday when they host Emmanuel College at Dilboy Stadium at 7:00pm.
