Junior Alberto Bittan (Caracas, Venezuela) scored the game-winner with 1:50 remaining in the second overtime to lead the Suffolk University Men's Soccer team to a 2-1 victory over Regis College in non-conference action at Dilboy Stadium on Wednesday evening.

Bittan's first goal of the season came at the perfect time as his strike from fifteen yards out helped snapped a four game skid as Suffolk earned their first victory of the 2014 season.

Sophomore Ben Daniels (Nantucket, Mass.) opened the scoring as he picked up his second tally of the season just four minutes into the contest. Daniels took a cross pass from senior Juan Lazcano Bello (Madrid, Spain) for the 1-0 edge.

Junior Renato Rosas (Ft. Lauderdale, Fla.) scored Regis' lone goal of the game in the twenty-fifth minute of the first half. Rosas' first goal of the season came as he was awarded a penalty kick. Rosas chose to goto the right side of the goal as his strike made it a 1-1 game.

Regis had a pair of opportunities to take the victory heading towards the end of regulation but their hopes were squashed by junior goalkeepr Nicholas Chamma (Rio de Janero, Brazil). Chamma made a point blank save on sophomore Dillon Lanctot (Somersworth, N.H.) with twenty-three seconds remaining. The rebound would find its way to freshman Chandler Neiswanger (Roy, Utah) who was also stopped by Chamma.

Neiswanger would come close again at the close of the first overtime as his header in the closing seconds of the period connected off the cross bar.

Bittan would come close to scoring just moments before he eventually struck for the game winner. Bittan was caught racing down the right side at the 106 minute mark and was set for a breakaway before being called offside.

Chamma made nine saves in the victory for Suffolk in goal on Wednesday evening.

Freshman Greg Koutroukas (Watertown, Mass.) made five saves in goal for Regis.

Regis held a 23-16 edge in shots during the contest.

The loss drops Regis to a 2-5 overall mark on the season. They'll be back in action on Wednesday as they host Fitchburg State University beginning at 5:00pm.

Suffolk will travel to Norwich University for a Great Northeast Athletic Conference (GNAC) matchup beginning at 5:00pm.
