Men's Soccer Fall To Norwich, 3-1

The Norwich University Cadetsscored three second half goals to top the Suffolk University Men's Soccer team, 3-1 in Great Northeast Athletic Conference (GNAC) action on Saturday evening.

Junior Chris Bristol (Clinton, Conn.) scored the game winning goal in the game's fifty-seventh minute on a free-kick to break a 1-1 tie as the Cadets scored all three of their tallies in a 12-minute span to move to an 8-3-2 overall record, and 4-1-1 mark in GNAC play.

Senior Djibril Niang (Dakar, Senegal) scored Suffolk's lone goal just fifty-five seconds into the contest as he was able to streak down the left side and put home his second goal of the year.

Norwich was able to even things up at the fifty-minute marker as junior Derek Morin (South Paris, Me.) scored a nifty goal on a scissor kick as he took a cross pass from freshman Jacob Zimmerman (Litchfield, N.H.).

Zimmerman added some insurance later in the third as he was left alone in front of the Suffolk goal and put home his team leading fifth goal of the season.

Sophomore Nicholas Chamma (Rio de Janero, Brazil) made 10 saves in net for Suffolk.

Junior Christian Hallstrom (Las Vegas, Nev.) made nine saves to earn the victory in goal for the Cadets.

Both teams will be back in GNAC action on Monday afternoon. Norwich will host Lasell at 3:00pm, while Suffolk hosts Albertus Magnus College at 5:00pm.
