Men's Soccer Top Anna Maria, 4-0 in GNAC Action

Senior Andres Cohen (Caracas, Venezuela) netted three goals to lead the Suffolk University Men's Soccer team to a 4-0 victory over Anna Maria College on Saturday afternoon.

The win is the first of the season for Suffolk as they move to a 1-5 overall mark and 1-1 record in Great Northeast Athletic Conference (GNAC) play. The victory was also the first for Head Coach Marco D'Andrea in his collegiate coaching career.

Cohen netted a pair of first half goals, striking twice in a four minute span to open the scoring for Suffolk. The senior forward scored his first tally of the year at the twenty-six minute marker converting a feed from sophomore Jeff Kelly (Colchester, Conn.). He would later add another goal in the game's thirtieth minute as senior Jeff Williams (Geneva, Ill.) assisted on the play.

Freshman Aaron Haggas (London, England) scored his first career collegiate goal later in the first half in the game's thirty seventh minute on an unassisted play to make it a 3-0 Rams lead heading into break.

Cohen would finish off the hat trick as junior Juan Lazcano Bello (Madrid, Spain) set up the hat trick.

Sophomore Nicholas Chamma (Rio de Janero, Brazil) made five saves in seventy five minutes of action before giving way to junior James Potter (North Kingstown, R.I.) for the remainder of the contest.

Suffolk will be back in action on Wednesday evening as they host Eastern Nazarene College in non-conference action at Dilboy Stadium beginning at 7:00pm.
