The Suffolk University Men's Soccer team rolled to a 9-0 victory over the Rivier College Raiders on Saturday evening in Great Northeast Athletic Conference (GNAC) action as part of recognition night for the senior class of 2013.

Three of the five honored players tallied points on the evening with Nick DiCicco (Wethersfield, Conn.) leading the way as he scored a pair of goals while Ben Rollins (Lee, N.H.) tallied a pair of assists and Joe Harvey (Reading, Mass.) also picking up a helper as Suffolk tied their season-high with nine goals in a game.

The Rams would score five times in the first half and added four more goals in the second half as they controlled the offensive pace throughout the evening with a 31-1 shot margin.

Rollins had assists on the first two Suffolk goals, a score by DiCicco in the sixteenth minute of the contest and a goal by sophomore Papa Mbaye (Dakar, Senegal)  in the game's twenty-second minute as he increased his team-leading point total to 23.

Freshman Eduardo Li (Curridabat, Costa Rica) chipped in with a pair of goals, and sophomore Babacar Sembene (Dakar, Senegal) had three assists on the evening.

Both freshman Alberto Benhamu (Tegucigalpa, Honduras) and sophomore Daour Diagne (Dakar, Senegal) had a goal and an assist on the evening, while sophomore Djibril Niang (Dakar, Senegal) and freshman Max Groper (Newton, Mass.) scored the other two goals for Suffolk.

The win improves the Rams to a 7-9-1 overall record, with a 4-5-1 standing in the GNAC. The game was their last regular season home game with the GNAC Tournament looming next weekend. Suffolk will now await the remainder of the league to round out their schedules before they await their seeding in the eight team tournament.

Sophomore James Potter (North Kingstown, R.I.) earned the victory in goal for the Rams as he made his first start of the season in goal. Potter did not see any action on the evening making no saves as the Rams controlled ball possession for the majority of the ninety minute contest.

The loss leaves Rivier winless in fourteen games, and 0-9-1 in GNAC standings. They round out their regular season on Tuesday with a non-conference tilt with Husson College.
