Offense Explodes in Men's Soccer Victory

The Suffolk University Men's Soccer team exploded for nine goals to top the Rivier Colleg Raiders, 9-0 on Saturday afternoon in Great Northeast Athletic Conference (GNAC) competition.

Suffolk scored eight times in the first period to snap a four-game skid in which they only tallied five goals.

Senior Danny Lloyd (Tegucigalpa, Honduras) scored two goals within the game's first five minutes as he has now scored four times over his last five games.

Lloyd scored his first goal three minutes in as he headed a cross-pass into the far upper corner off the foot of sophomore James Harvey (Reading, Mass.).

Suffolk would score six more times over the next 30 minutes following Lloyd's pair.

Freshman Babacar Sembene (Dakar, Senegal) had a goal and two assists, while freshman Niang Djibril (Dakar, Senegal) netted two goals in the first half and completed the hat trick with a goal in third.

Junior Michael Missouri (Moss, Norway) and freshman Andres Cohen (Caracas, Venezuela) also scored in the eight goal first half, while senior Carlos Flores-Rodriguez (Madrid, Spain) had two assists.

Suffolk will be back in action on Wednesday evening as they host the Mount Ida Mustangs in Great Northeast Athletic Conference (GNAC) action beginning at 8:30pm at Dilboy Stadium in Somerville.
