Somerville, MA - The Suffolk University Rams picked up a much needed win in Great Northeast Athletic Conference (GNAC) play defeating the Mount Ida College Mustangs 3-0 on Wednesday evening. Junior goalkeeper Alex Capousis (Annapolis, MD) made his first start of the season, stopping all five shots on goal to post the Rams' third shutout of the season.

Sophomore Danny Lloyd (Tegucigalpa, Honduras) scored the Rams first goal in the game's fifteenth minute as he was led up the field by a pass from sophomore David Best (Westminster, MA). Lloyd then got in a foot race up the field with a Mustangs' defender before making a dazzling play kicking the ball behind him before firing a shot high into the opposing net for his team-leading 10th goal of the season.

Senior Nick Celia (Hanson, MA) struck 24 minutes later converting in front of the net on a feed from sophomore Stephen Gaudet (Peabody, MA) to give the Rams a 2-0 edge in the first half.

The Rams scored their third goal 15-minutes into the second half as senior Berhnard Lotterer (Lima, Peru) knocked in his fourth goal of the season coming off a corner kick from junior Luis Flores (Madrid, Spain).

The Mustangs outshot the Rams 16-15 on the game, but were not able to capitalize on any of their scoring chances. Perhaps their best chance came off a shot by junior Hermes Lima (Boston, MA) that was deflected over the net by a leaping Capousis. Mount Ida's leading scorer freshman William Daniels (Bethany, CT) finished the game with seven shots total, but six either sailed high or wide of the Rams' goal.

Sophomore Steven Enright (South Kingstown, RI) made four saves in the loss for the Mustangs.

Mount Ida will wrap the regular season as they face Emerson College on Saturday at 12:30pm. Suffolk hosts Albertus Magnus on Saturday at
