EAST BOSTON – Suffolk men's hockey suffered a 3-0 setback as it was kept off the scoreboard by the University of New England in Conference of New England (CNE) action Saturday night at Louis E. Porrazzo Memorial Skating Rink.

HOW IT HAPPENED
UNE jumped out to a two-goal lead in the first frame as the Nor'Easters potted a pair of pucks a 1 :36 span. The scoring started at the 9:50 mark behind Nathan Chickering and Nick Marino netted a power play marker at the 11:36 mark to put the Rams in a 2-0 hole at the first intermission.
The visitors added to their advantage 1:30 into the middle period. Aidan Curran chipped away the puck in a scramble in front of Suffolk's cage to extend UNE's advantage to 3-0.
The Rams were unable to figure Joey Stanizzi out over the 60 minutes as the Nor'Easters netminder stopped all 33 of Suffolk's shots to seal the host setback fate.
NETMINDER NOTES
- CJ Hapward started and turned aside 25 shots in the first two periods.
- Max Banoun logged 12 stops in the third period.
