
GORHAM, Maine – Suffolk men's hockey fell in its first semester finale, 6-2, to Southern Maine Friday night at the USM Ice Arena.

HOW IT HAPPENED
Southern Maine put up three unanswered, two in the first period and one 3:06 into the second to grab a comfortable 3-0 cushion.
Cole Scott put the Rams on the board 2:09 after the Huskies third goal to restore the two-goal gap, which remained at the second intermission.
USM restored the three-goal margin 2:38 into the third and the score remained 4-1 in the Huskies favor until there were less than five minutes remaining in regulation.
Scott Mcmanus potted a powerplay puck at the 15:45 mark to cut the deficit down to two, 4-2.
Matt Sullivan put away his second goal of the night 15 seconds later and 2:21 after that Conor Donovan etched his name on the scoresheet with the Huskies' sixth goal of the night for the 6-2 final.
NETMINDER NOTES
- Chris Jackson had 26 saves in the setback.
- Kyle Penton produced a 22-save effort in the victory.
STATISTICALLY SPEAKING
- McManus and Scott were responsible for the Rams goals, both unassisted tallies.
- Southern Maine outshot Suffolk, 32-24.

Suffolk is away from action until the New Year with things picking up again at the Codfish Bowl Tournament Jan. 5-6. The Rams will face Connecticut College Friday, with their opponent on Saturday either UMass Boston or Worcester State.
