Seven Men’s Hockey Players Earn Krampade All-American Scholars

AHCA RELEASE

BOSTON – Suffolk men's hockey had seven skaters honored as Krampade All-American Scholars by the American Hockey Coaches Association (AHCA) for the 2020-21 season, the national organization announced.

Joe FeeneyJohn GarrityShawn Montgomery and Billy Roche marked the list for the third consecutive campaign. Alex Kolowrat took home the award for the second straight season and Nick Lachaine and Cal Wilcox, meanwhile, etched their name on the list for the first time in their collegiate careers.

The Rams have garnered the nod for exceptional results in the classroom since the inception of the award five years ago. Suffolk's seven honorees tie last year's award winner and rank third in the Rams' record books behind the 2016-17 (10) and 2018-19 (11) seasons which saw double-digit Suffolk student-athletes recognized.

Due to the effects of COVID-19, the AHCA adopted revised criteria for this year's honorees. To qualify, a student-athlete must have attained a 3.60 GPA for each semester, regardless of whether the school's hockey team was able to play this season or not.

Suffolk's seven honorees were a part of 33 Commonwealth Coast Conference (CCC) skaters recognized for their work inside the classroom. Curry had the most honorees with 20 and the University of New England saw six student-athletes earn the feat.

Overall, 701 honorees across Division II-III men picked up the feat, joining 532 of their Division I counterparts, who received the distinction earlier this month to total, 1,253 men's hockey Kramapde All-American Scholars. For a full list of honorees, click here
