HOW IT HAPPENED
The teams traded goals in the third and second before the thrilling third.

NEC was the first to lit the lamp on the night as Daniel Bergqvist scored 3:31 into the action with help from Carlos Fornaris and Nikita Pintusov.

Sammy Silich responded for the freshman. The Rams' rookie put away a feed from Shawn Montgomery to even the score at 1-all at the 16:21 mark.

Out of the locker room, Montgomery scored his own goal 6:49 into the middle period with Silich assisting on the go-ahead goal. That lead was short lived for the blue-and-gold as the Pilgrims answered 2:50 later when Jhuwon Davis scored to knot things once again.

Suffolk was the first to strike out of the second intermission. Joe Vingi used feeds from Brian Brooks and Joseph Mortillaro to restore the advantage in the Rams' favor 4:15 into the final period.

Things turned in the Pilgrims favor when Connor Inger leveled the playing field for the third time of the day 3:29 later before scoring the eventual game-winner himself 55 seconds later.

The Rams looked to comeback once again and took six of their eight third period shots after Inger scored his second of the day. Anthony Pupplo scooped up all of Suffolk's attempts even when Chris Glionna pulled Cal Wilcox from the pipes to keep visitors at bay. When Wilcox was on the bench, Fornaris netted an insurance goal for the Pilgrims for the 5-3 final.
