SARATOGA SPRINGS, N.Y. – Suffolk men's hockey slipped to Skidmore, 5-0 in its New England Hockey Conference opener Friday night at Saratoga City Rink.

HOW IT HAPPENED
Skidmore scored twice in the first frame to build a cushion it never let up. 

The Thoroughbreds, who controlled the majority of the action, potted a powerplay puck in the middle stanza to add to their margin and scored twice more in the final frame for the final 5-0 margin.  

NETMINDER NOTES

  • Cal Wilcox stopped 36 pucks despite the setback result. 
  • Brandon Kessel scooped up all 21 of Suffok's attempts on target. 

STATISTICALLY SPEAKING

  • The Thoroughbreds doubled Suffolk shots, 41-21. 
  • Skidmore bested the Rams in the face-off circle as well, 30-24.
