Men’s Hockey Earns Seventh Seed in NEHC Tournament

BOSTON – In its first season in the New England Hockey Conference (NEHC), the Suffolk men's hockey team will vie for the conference crown as the Rams garnered the seventh seed in the upcoming league tournament, the conference office announced Sunday.

The Rams played their way to a 5-13-0 league ledger, which included a pair of nationally-ranked upsets to punch its second-straight ticket the postseason.

As the seventh seed, Suffolk will head to second-seed Norwich (18-4-3, 13-4-1 NEHC) Saturday, Feb. 16 for a 7 p.m. tilt at Kreitzberg Arena.

The blue-and-gold's last trip to Northfield, Vermont, ended in 1-0 triumph for Suffolk December 1. The conference foes last met in the Rams' final home weekend of the regular season when the then No.10/8 Cadets took down the hosts, 8-1.

The winner of the clash will advance to the semifinals, set for Saturday, Feb. 23. The highest remaining seed will face the lowest remaining seed and the two remaining seeds will square off.
