BOSTON – Suffolk men's hockey makes the trek to upstate New York this weekend to conclude regular-season action. The Rams first visit Skidmore Friday, Feb. 8 at 7 p.m., before stopping by No. 11/13 Hobart the following day, Saturday, Feb. 9 for a 4 p.m. showdown.

LAST TIME OUT
The Suffolk men's hockey team capped off its home schedule in winning fashion as the Rams not only took down Castleton, 4-1, but honored those who have and are currently serving to protect this country by hosting a Military Appreciation Night Saturday evening at Emmons Horrigan O'Neil Memorial Rink.

RAMS RUNDOWN
At 8-14-0 on the season and 5-11-0 in NEHC contests, Suffolk heads into the final weekend of play in seventh place in the league standings. 

Mikhail Bryan and Jack Kelly have each been facilitators to the Rams success in their first season in the NEHC as the senior and sophomore have each racked up 23 points over 22 games. Bryan's stat line features a team-high 15 helpers and eight markers, while Kelly has found the back of the net a squad-best 12 times and set-up 11 shots.

The duo of Michael Levine and Will Ribas has defended the between the pipes for Suffolk this season. Levine has taken on the bulk of the workload with 20 games and 19 starts under his belt in which he put together a .899 save percentage and a 3.40 GAA. Ribas, meanwhile, has played in seven outings and started seven. The junior enters the weekend with a .888 GAA and a 3.81 save percentage. Levine has backstopped the Rams to six of their eight victories, while Ribas owns a pair of victories.

THOROUGHBREDS THOUGHTS
Skidmore enters the weekend after a 1-1 draw at then-No. 12/13 Babson Saturday afternoon that put the Thoroughbreds at 11-9-3 on the year and 7-6-3 in league play, good for sixth place in the standings. 

A trio of skaters buoy the Thoroughbreds' 68-goal offense in Matt Muzyka (9g, 10a), Brandon Borges (6g, 12a) and Austin Rook (6g, 10a).

A pair of netminders has seen action for Skidmore this season. Brandon Kasel has the most experience with 17 games under his belt in which he has registered an 8-7-1 record with a 2.76 GAA and a .914 save percentage. Brian Kowalski completes the two-headed goalie contingent with a 3-2-2 ledger thanks to a .318 GAA and a .906 save percentage.

WE MEET AGAIN
Back-to-back goals from Skidmore proved to be enough as Suffolk men's hockey could not make up the ground and fell to the Thoroughbreds, 4-3, in the Rams' midseason finale Dec. 8 at Emmons Horrigan O'Neil Memorial Rink.

  • Suffolk looks for it's first-ever win over Skidmore as the Rams trail the all-time series, which began in 2008, 0-2-0.

EYES ON THE MATCH

STATESMEN STATEMENT
Hobart heads into the weekend fifth in the league and 11th and 13th, respectively, in the latest USCHO.com's and D3Hockey.com's polls after shutting out then-No. 12/13 Babson, 5-0, and tying then-No. 7/9 UMass Boston, 3-3, last week to move to 15-6-2 on the year and 9-5-2 against conference counterparts, good for fifth in the league. 

Three different skaters have eclipsed the 20-point plateau for the Statesmens this season paced by Zach Tyson's 24 points on six strikes and 18 assists. Jonas Toupal sits squad on the squad with 23 points (10g, 13a) and Lawson MacDougall's 20 points (8g, 12a) completes the trio. Travis Schneider is the stop scoring threat for Hobart as the sophomore has found the back of the net 12 times.

Alexander Connal and Liam Lascelle have stood tall in net for the Statesmen this season. Connal brings a 7-5-0 record into the weekend with a 2.37 GAA and .905 save percentage to his credit, while Lascelleholds a 6-1-2 mark, 1.87 GAA and a .927 save percentage.

WE MEET AGAIN
Seven different Rams recorded one point and Michael Levine defended the pipes valiantly to lead Suffolk men's hockey past then-No. 12 Hobart, 5-2, Dec. 7 at Emmons Horrigan O'Neil Memorial Rink.
