RAMS RUNDOWN
Suffolk split opening weekend action with a 7-0 shutout over Franklin Pierce in the season debut and a 4-2 setback at Assumption to head into the weekend 1-1 overall.

Jack Kelly has spearheaded the Rams' nine-goal offense as the sophomore has posted three pucks and set-up two other strikes for a team-best five points. Senior Mikhail Bryan is in a close second with four points off a team-high three handouts and one goal. Miller Rubin joins Kelly and Bryan with multiple points with two to his credit, both off assists.

Michael Levine and Will Ribas have each seen time in net. Levine opened the season with a 25-save shutout against the Ravens. Ribas, meanwhile, suffered the setback to the Greyhounds despite a 31-save performance.

VIKINGS VIEW
Salem started its season Thursday night with a 5-4 setback to Westfield State.

Four different skaters were responsible for the Vikings quartet of opening day goals in Brooks Mitzel, Connor Irving, Parker Wood and Matt Yianacopolus. Mitzel is one of two players with a pair of points with the freshmen forward dishing out one assist to go with his goal. Callum Hofford also has two points to his credit, both off handouts.

Sean Cleary got the nod in between the pipes in game one for Salem. The junior goaltender  stop 30 of the 35 shots he faced to enter Saturday's showdown with a .857 save percentage and a 5.06 GAA.
