BOSTON – The Suffolk men's hockey team turns back to Commonwealth Coast Conference competition as the Rams are in store for a home-and-home series with Becker this weekend. Suffolk will first entertain the Hawks Friday, Jan. 19 at Emmons Horrigan O'Neil Memorial Rink before traveling to the Fidelity Ice Center in Worcester Saturday, Jan. 20. Both conference contests are set for 7 p.m. puck drops.

LAST TIME OUT
Suffolk men's hockey fell behind early and could not make up enough ground as the Rams suffered a 5-2 setback to SNHU Saturday night at the Ice Den.

RAMS RUNDOWN
Suffolk looks to return to the win column as the Rams fallen in back-to-back outings to dip to 6-8-2 on the season. The blue-and-gold's 3-6-1 league ledger puts Suffolk in seventh place in the CCC standings. 

Brian Brooks anchors Suffolk's offense with the sophomore's six goals and team-high seven assists good for 13 points. Freshman Matt Bucher has also produced double digit points with 12 on five markers and seven handouts, which ties the team-best with Brooks and Connor Parent (0g, 7a). Mikhail Bryan (5g, 4a) and Joseph Mortillaro (7g, 2a) are on the cusp of double figure points with nine each. Mortillaro's seven scores lead the way for the Rams' 16 goal scorers. 

Michael Levine has seen the bulk of the action in between the pipes for Suffolk this season. The junior brings in a 2.86 GAA and a .922 save percentage.

FLYING WITH THE HAWKS
Becker dropped its last four games including a 5-4 decision at SNHU to carry a 4-11-1 overall record and a 2-8-0 conference mark into the weekend. The Hawks last win came November 30 over Nichols, 2-0. 

As a team Becker has potted 44 goals led by nine from James Wallace, who sits third on the team win points with 13 thanks to four handouts. John Dutney has set up 17 shots to lead the Hawks attack with 18 points, while Corey Schafer is second on the squad with 14 points on six strikes and eight helpers. 

Four different netminders have seen time for Becker this season. Ryan Clifford has skated in the most contests, playing 10 and starting six. The freshman holds a 4.88 GAA and a .876 save percentage. Cody Foster boasts the best GAA (3.90) and save percentage (.915) of the foursome.

INSIDE THE SERIES
Suffolk and Becker have taken the ice together since the 2007-08 season with series locked at 9-9-2 thanks to the Rams' 3-0 shutout over the Hawks in the last meeting, Jan. 21, 2017.
