Levine Nominated DIII Hero of the Week

BOSTON – Michael Levine of the Suffolk hockey team is one of 10 student-athletes nominated for Hero Sports DIII Men's Hockey HERO of the Week as announced by herosports.com this afternoon. As the Rams backstop, he helped lift the Rams over Becker, 1-0, in ECAC Northeast action Saturday. Fans can vote for Levine by clicking here.

Levine put together a 23-save effort and did not allow a puck past his goal line en route to his first collegiate shutout. The cleansheet is the first for a Suffolk goalie since Brandon Smolarek kept Wentwoth off the scoreboard in a 4-0 win over the Leopards February 22, 2014. The freshman's second career victory, and head coach Chris Glionna's 100th-career triumph, snapped a two-game skid for Suffolk, improving the Rams to 13-8-2 overall and 8-5-2 in conference contests.

Levine and the Rams return to action tonight as they conclude the regular-season portion of their schedule against top league contender Nichols at Emmons Horrigan O'Neil Memorial Rink at 7:40 pm.
