Turner Earns ECAC Northeast Player of the Week Honor

BOSTON – Stanton Turner of the Suffolk men's hockey team was named ECAC Northeast Player of the week, the league announced this afternoon. The award is the first player of the week distinction of his career.

Turner totaled six points in two games this week, including five during an offensive outburst at UMass Dartmouth Thursday night.

The junior forward started the week off with a five-point performance on two goals and three helpers. Turner followed that outburst with a helper on the game-tying goal Saturday night at Salve Regina to help Suffolk past the Seahawks.

The award gives Turner his second ECAC weekly honor of his career, as the San Francisco, California local was named the best rookie over a seven-day stretch in 2013-14. The Rams have collected seven ECAC weekly honors this season.

Suffolk, who is now 6-1-2 in league play and 11-4-2 overall, will host Endicott Wednesday, Jan. 27 at 7:40 p.m.
