Suffolk Hockey Holds Toys for Tots Drive

The Suffolk University Hockey team recently participated in this year's Toys for Tots Drive. The Rams partnered with the Suffolk University Police Department for this year's campaign as they made collections during a home game on December 6th against Assumption College at Steriti Rink in Boston's North End. Approximately fifty toys were donated at the game that will be donated to "Toys for Tots of Massachusetts."

Suffolk University Hockey Head Coach Chris Glionna (pictured below), along with team captains Nick Davis (Pittsburgh, Pa.), Brian Smusz (Danville, Va.) and Jeff Rose (Collinsville, Ct.) presented the donations to Officer Maureen Brown of the Suffolk University Police Department on Friday afternoon, December 11th.

"We are very thankful for the support and generosity we received on Sunday from all those who turned out at the game and helped contribute to our drive. We'd also like to extend our sincerest gratitude towards the Suffolk University Police Department for their collaboration in this campaign and making it a success" said Hockey Head Coach Chris Glionna.

Suffolk Univeristy Police Chief John Pagliarulo, applauded the Rams, and Officer Maureen Brown, a former Suffolk student-athlete, for their efforts in this year's campaign. "It is just about working together to help out the kids. A special thanks must go out to Officer Maureen Brown, who has been committed to this cause for years, the Suffolk University Hockey team and all of those who help us help the kids."

Suffolk University Director of Athletics, James Nelson also expressed his gratitude for those who supported the event. "Deserved congratulations and appreciation for the thoughtful concern revealed by Officer Brown and our Men's Ice Hockey student-athletes in support of those youngsters certain to be enriched this Holiday season by means of the United States Marine Corps. Toys for Tots program."

The Toys for Tots Drive was not the only successful story of the evening, as the Rams pulled off a thrilling overtime victory defeating Assumption 4-3 with 53 seconds remaining on the clock in front of a packed house at Steriti Rink during Suffolk Spirit Night. It was the Rams' lone home game of the season down in the Boston's Historic North End.
