Hockey Skates to 4-4 Tie with Salve Regina

Senior Niles Moore (Columbus, Ohio) scored two goals, including the game-tying goal with less than two minutes remaining as the Suffolk University Rams (7-10-3, 3-4-2 ECAC) tied the Salve Regina Seahawks (1-18-1 overall, 0-8-1 ECAC), 4-4 on Wednesday evening in Portsmouth, Rhode Island.

Moore scored his team leading 12th goal of the season at 18:08 in the third period off feeds from senior Nick Davis (Pittsburgh, Penn.) and freshman Andrew Monesi (Simi Valley, Cali.).

Down 4-1 in the third the Rams scored three unanswered goals to force the tie as no team could scored in the overtime period.

Moore tallied his first goal of the game two minutes into the third frame as the Rams converted on a power play. It was Moore's fourth power play goal of the season, as senior Pat Welch (Dorchester, Mass.) and sophomore J. Andrew Wein (Barnegat, N.J.) had the assists.

Freshman Andrew Flynn (Stamford, Conn.) added his sixth goal of the season halfway through the third as he took a pass from sophomore Nate Linard (Brighton, Mich.) to cut the deficit to 4-3.

Junior Jeff Rose (Collinsville, Conn.) made 18 saves for the Rams. Suffolk outshot Salve Regina 25-22 in the game.

Freshman Matt Robertson (Whitman, Mass.) added his third goal of the season in the first period for Suffolk, while Monesi finished the game with two assists.

The Rams will be back in action on Saturday as they take on Curry College in Milton at 4:30pm.
