Springfield, MA -- Senior Kyle Cook (Chino Hills, CA) pulled off some late heroics again to help lead the Suffolk University Rams to a 2-1 victory at Western New England College last night. With :24 seconds remaining in the game Cook converted on a power-play for his ninth goal of the year. Sophomore Jeff Rose (Collinsville, CT) made 23 saves in net to pick up his fourth win of the year for the Rams.

The Rams fell behind early when Mike Majesty put the Golden Lions up 1-0 six minutes into the first period. Senior captain Dan Pencinger (Rawlings, NJ) got the Rams on the board 2:34 into the second period when he converted feeds from John Rocchio (East Greenwich, RI) and Nick Davis (Pittsburgh, PA) for his third goal of the year on a power play.

Suffolk's penalty killing proved the be the difference in the game as the Rams managed to kill off nine Golden Lions' power plays holding WNEC 0/9 in the game with the extra attacker.

A hooking call with :30 seconds in regulation on WNEC helped put the Rams in position to win. Cook's goal was his third game winning goal this season, and the second time in the last two weeks that the senior has had a game-deciding goal in the final minute of play. On January 15th Cook scored a game tying goal with :37 seconds left against Assumption.

The Rams play again on Saturday night as they take host Fitchburg St. in a game with playoff implications. Game time will be at 7:15 at Walter Brown Arena.
