Suffolk skates at Skidmore Invitational Tournament.

Saratoga Springs, NY - The Suffolk University Hockey Team lost both of their games at the Skidmore Invitational Tournament in Saratoga Spring, NY. The Rams opened up the tournament Saturday with a 2-1 loss to host Skidmore College.  Junior Niles Moore (Columbus, Ohio) scored Suffolk's lone goal, a power play goal 10 minutes through the second period to even the game at 1-1. The goal was Moore's second on the season, Mitch Sabo and Paul Weisser each had assists on the play. Skidmore forward Chris Webb (Holliston, MA) answered four minutes later with an even strength goal that turned out to be the game winner. Suffolk goaltender Jeff Rose (1-5) made 36 saves in the defeat.

In the consolation game, Suffolk was downed by SUNY-Postdam 9-1 on Sunday afternoon. Sophomore Paul Weisser (Longmeadow, MA) scored on a power play late in the second period for Suffolk's lone goal.  Anthony Proteau (Montreal, Que) had a hat trick for the Bears, and Luke Beck and Connor Treacy each had a goal and two assists for SUNY-Postdam as well. Bill Gilbert made 21 saves in relief of Jeff Rose (1-6) who was pulled midway through the 2nd period. The Rams were outshot 48-15.

Suffolk is back on the ice, Wednesday night as they travel to Salve Regina University to take on the Seahawks in an ECAC Northeast hockey matchup. Game time is 7:15.
