Kyle Cook, ESPN the Magazine's Academic All-District

Boston, MA - Suffolk University Hockey senior Kyle Cook (Chino Hills, CA) was named to ESPN the Magazine's Academic All-District team for District 1. Cook, was a second team selection for the College Division's At-Large team, which was a combination of ice hockey, golf, lacrosse, swimming, tennis and wrestling. Cook was one of twenty student-athletes to earn selection in the College Division, which includes Division II & III programs in the New England and New York regions. Cook also becomes the first player in Suffolk Hockey's program history to earn recognition by the College Sports Information Directors of America (CoSIDA).

Cook, a Criminology & Law major at Suffolk, currently maintains a 3.79 cumulative grade point average. Cook, was Suffolk's leading point getter on the season, finishing with 14 goals and 17 assists for a total of 31 points. Cook also scored four game winning goals on the season and was twice named ECAC Northeast Player of the Week in the month of February. Cook was also named a semi-finalist for the Joe Concannon Award presented to the best American-born college hockey player in the New England region at the Division II or III level. After transferring to Suffolk from Nichols College, Cook scored 31 goals and added 36 assists for a total of 67 points in his two seasons for the blue and gold.

The College Sports Information Directors of America (CoSida) selects Academic All America teams in 12 programs: football, women's volleyball, men's soccer, women's soccer, men's basketball, women's basketball, baseball, softball, men's track & field/cross country, women's track & field/cross country, men's at large and women's at large. A first team, second team and third team are selected in both the University (Division I and I-AA) and College (Division II, III and NAIA) Divisions.
