Men’s Golf Finishes Sixth at CNE Championship

MARBLEHEAD, Mass. – Suffolk men's golf garnered sixth at the 2024 Conference of New England Championships at the Tedesco Country Club.  

The Rams turned in a 36-hole, two-day score of 635 to take the sixth spot in the nine-team field ahead of Nichols (645), Wentworth (651) and the University of New England (674). 

It was a tight race at the top as Roger Williams edged out No. 38 Endicott to claim the CNE crown. The Hawks had a 598 and the Gulls shot a 599. Gordon rounded out the teams on the podium with a 614. Hartford (617) and Western New England (625) rounded out the field in fourth and fifth, respectively. 

Jonathan Donovan had the standout individual showing for Suffolk. The senior shared 18th in the 45-golfer field with a 157. 

Junior Christopher Sinopoli was two strokes behind Donovan to claim 24th. 

Senior Jake Zirlin shared 25th with a 160 and freshman Michael Gallagher tied for 32nd with a 163. 

Senior Vijay Sakuru completed the blue-and-gold golfers on the green with a 168, good for a share of 39th. 

The conference championship concluded the Rams' 2024 fall slate. Suffolk will return to action this spring.
