
BRUNSWICK, Maine – Suffolk men's golf finished in a tie of 13th at the Bowdoin Invitational Sunday at the Brunswick Golf Club.
The Rams started the action on Saturday with a 301 and carded a 324 on the second day in Vacation Land to finish with a team card of 625. That performance put the blue-and-gold in a tie for 13th with its Conference of New England (CNE) counterpart Western New England.
Tufts topped the 20-team field with a 587, while Amherst and Endicott completed the top three with a 591 and 592, respectively.
Other CNE teams on the course were Roger Williams (611), Nichols (631) and University of New England (646), who took sixth, 15th and 18th.
Vijay Sakuru anchored Suffolk's golfers as the senior claimed sole possession of 30th. He put together a 152 (+8) behind a 74 and 78 to be in the top 26 percent of 112-golfer field.
Junior Christopher Sinopoli was one stroke behind Sakuru to share 35th with six other players. He shot a 72 on Saturday and added nine strokes on Sunday to finish with a 153 (+9).
Jake Zirlin tied for 65th after shooting 79 on each day of action for a 158 and Ryan Mollica shared 79th with a 162.
Tyler Anastasi totaled a 173 in his first collegiate golfing coemption to claim a share of 102nd.
Suffolk is off from action until Oct. 19-20 when it competes for the NEIGA Championship at the Captains Golf Course in Brewster, Massachusetts.
