Men’s Golf Tied for 10th After Day 1 at 39th Duke Nelson Invitational

DAY ONE RESULTS

MIDDLEBURY, Vt. – Suffolk men's golf is featured in the top-10 of the 39th Duke Nelson Invitational after Saturday's action at the Ralph Myhre Golf Course. 

The Rams combined for a day one card of 302 (+18) share 10th with invite host Middlebury. Babson leads the 24-team field with a 392 with Suffolk's Commonwealth Coast Conference (CCC) counterpart Endicott and Bowdoin one stroke behind the Beavers to share second. 

Eight strokes separate spots four through 10 with RPI (296), Trinity (297), Williams (298), Hamilton (301), St. Lawrence (301) and Skidmore (301) ahead of the blue-and-gold in the team race. 

Jake Zirlin has shined for Suffolk individually. The junior shot just two strokes over par (71) to share 11th with 10 other student-athletes. 

Seniors Cameron Sinopoli and Vijay Sakuru are in a nine-way tie for 30th with a 75.  

Jonathan Donovan holds a share of 73rd with a 79 and Christopher Sinopoli rounds out the Rams on the 6,423-yard course in a tie of 101 with an 82. 

Suffolk will wrap up the two-day tournament tomorrow, Sunday, Sept. 10 at 11:30 a.m.
