Sinopoli Begins Year Three as Men’s Golf Captain

BOSTON – For the third straight season, Cameorn Sinopoli will take on the Suffolk men's golf captain role solo, second-year head coach Ken DiMaggio announced Thursday.

"Cameron has been enormously helpful to me especially as a first-year coach coming in last fall," DiMaggio said. "He always puts the team first and has also been a key contributor along the way. We are looking for a big year from him this coming fall."

It marks the fifth consecutive campaign that the Rams' men's golf team will be led by a single captain. Sinopoli has held the post since his sophomore season in 2021-22 and begins his third term this year. The Marlborough, Massachusetts native is the only player to wear blue-and-gold to captain the men's golf squad for three seasons.

A year ago, as a junior, Sinopoli helped Suffolk qualifier for the CCC Championship for the second time in as many seasons the Rams had to play their way into the league tournament. At the conference championship, he compiled a two-day card of 153 to secure a spot on the league's second team. He has been a constant in the line-up throughout his career and aims to pace the pack as a senior.

The 2023 season is just a day away as action is set to get started with a head-to-head match against CCC counterpart Wentworth tomorrow, Friday, Sept. 1 at George Wright Golf Course.
