Sakuru, Sinopoli Earn All-CCC, Men's Golf

CCC RELEASE

BIDDEFORD, Maine – For the first time in Suffolk men's golf history, a pair of student-athletes received all-conference honors as Vijay Sakuru and Cameron Sinopoli received All-CCC First-Team and Second-Team status, the league office announced Wednesday. The Rams, under leadership of first-year head coach Ken DiMaggio, were voted as the Team Sportsmanship recipient.

Voting for the All-CCC Teams and major awards was conducted by the eight CCC men's golf head coaches during the week following the CCC Championship.

The duo are the first Rams to be recognized by the league in the same season. They join an elite list of student-athletes in the program's history to pick up all-conference. Overall just seven golfers have picked up the feat, four from the Commonwealth Coast Conference and three by the Great Northeast Athletic Conference (GNAC).

Sakuru is the second Suffolk student-athlete to take home a first-team nod, following in Mauro Stanchieri's footstops from a year ago. He played as the Rams top golfer throughout the year and anchored the blue-and-gold to a spot at the CCC Championship for the third straight season.

Sinopoli, a staple in Suffolk's line-up throughout the year, stood out at the league tournament with a two-day card of 153 en route to a seventh-place finish.
