WENHAM, Mass. – Suffolk men's golf opened the spring portion of its 2022-23 schedule Thursday with a second-place showing at the Gordon Shootout at the Wenham Country Club. 

Suffolk combined for a 292 to finish in the middle of the three-team field comprised of Commonwealth Coast Conference (CCC) foes, host Gordon, who won its own event, 291, and Wentworth (309).  

Vijay Sakuru anchored the blue-and-gold to second place in the three-team field as he shared medalist honors with a 69, plus-4 on the par-65, 4,546 course.  

Christopher Sinopoli shot a 70 to share third with Wentworth's Ben Wright. Jake Zirlin turned in a 76 to tie for eighth. Cameron Sinopoli earned a share of 10th with a 77 to round out the top Rams on the course.  

Joaquin de la Guardia (79) and Adam Staiti (85) compete for Suffolk in its spring debut as well.  

The Rams will be back in action next Thursday, April 12 at when they face Babson in a head-to-head at the Brookline Golf Club.
