ABOUT THE NEIGA
The New England Intercollegiate Golf Association (NEIGA) is a non-profit organization, which was first organized in 1934 at the Oakley Country Club in Watertown, Massachusetts. NEIGA is believed to be the largest gathering of collective players from all levels of NCAA competing at the same location on a 36-hole layout. There are currently 46 New England colleges and universities as members of the NEIGA.

THE COURSE
Two championship golf courses at one location line in the Captains Golf Course. Together, the par-72 Port Course and the par-72 Starboard Course deliver 36 holes.

THE FIELD
Seven different schools including Suffolk will battle for regional glory and the NEIGA title. The field features the Rams' Commonwealth Coast Conference (CCC) counterparts Roger Williams, Wentworth and Western New England. Rounding out the competition is Eastern Connecticut State, Springfield, Saint Joseph's (Maine) and Williams.

RAPID REWIND
Suffolk's best showing at the NEIGA Championship came at the 85th edition of the tournament when the Rams finished sixth in the field of 16.

That year, Owen Boggini put together the best-known individual performance in recent history and according to the Rams' year-by-year record book, which dates through the 2008 campaign, with a tie for 12th. His two-day score of 156 boosted him to All-NEIGA Second-Team honors, the first male Suffolk student-athlete to pick up the regional accolade.

In 2021, Suffolk claimed 14th in the 16-team field and Mauro Stanchieri finished in the top quarter of the 80-golfer field.

WHAT'S NEXT?
Suffolk's fall slate will conclude on the cape this weekend. The Rams will be back in the spring of 2022. A full competition slate will be released in the New Year with the main point of emphasis being the blue-and-gold's chance at the CCC crown with the conference championship set to take place.
