Men’s Golf Places Eighth at Blazers Invitational

SOUTH HADLEY, Mass. – Over the weekend the Suffolk men's golf team finished in the middle of the pack at the Blazers Invitational hosted by Elms at the Hickory Ridge Country Club. 

The Rams eighth-place showing in the field of 17 came via a team total of 669. Husson won the two-day event with a team card of 608 with Amherst (616) and Western New England (620) taking second and third, respectively.  

Juniors Owen Boggini and Elias Sachs shared 23rd place in the field of 88 golfers. Boggini improved on his day one score of 84 with 80 on the second day on the green for a 164. Sachs, meanwhile, shot an 82 on each day to finish with a 164.  

Senior Stephen Ferrante tied for 45th with a total of 170 with junior Demetrois Stamoulis shooting one stroke more than Ferrante to share 49th place.  

Freshman Brian Dunleavy completed the Rams on the course with a 174, good for a share of 56th. 

The two-day tournament served as final prep for Suffolk before the upcoming 2018 GNAC Championships this weekend, Oct. 13-14, at Blackstone National Golf Club.
