Men’s Golf Competes at RIC Spring Invitational

WARWICK, R.I. – In its first event of the spring season, the Suffolk men's golf team competed at the RIC Spring Invitational at the Valley Country Club. 

The invitational served of three events in the spring series, an annual event in its sixth season, which includes this weekend's Hampton Inn Invitational and the Wildcat Spring Invitational. 

Suffolk put together a 331-team score at the finish, tying Wentworth for 10th. The invitational's hosts Rhode Island College, took first place overall behind a 305 team card, just two points ahead of second-place finisher Babson. 

Ethan Abitz anchored the Rams' squad as the score of 76 was good for sixth overall in the field of 76. The sophomore, who was just four over par, tied RIC's Joshua Macera. 

Demetri Stamoulis and Andrew Harper matched each other with a score of 82, good for 35th. 

Daniel Caissie and Stephan Ferrante finished with a 91 and 92, respectively, to round out the Rams on the course.   

Suffolk will be back out on the green this weekend. April 13-14, with its first-day event of the spring, The Hampton Inn Invitational hosted by UMass Dartmouth at the Allendale Country Club.
