BOSTON – Golfers across the GNAC will take the course at the Gorham Country Club in Gorham, Maine, this weekend as the Suffolk men's golf team and its conference counterparts converge in hopes to capture the conference crown. The two-day championship event will be hosted by Saint Joseph's (Maine) and will tee-off at 9 a.m.

LAST TIME OUT
For the third time this season, the Suffolk men's golf team came out on top as the Rams took home the team crown of the 2016 EC Saints Invite with a team score of 325 Tuesday afternoon at the George Wright Golf Course.

POLL POSITION
On the cusps of the 2016 GNAC Tournament, the conference released the championship coaches' poll Thursday afternoon with the Suffolk men's golf team selected seventh by a vote of the league's nine head coaches. 

The Rams picked up 25 points to finish ahead of Emmanuel (20) and Albertus Magnus (12). The five-time reigning GNAC Champion Rhode Island College is once again favored to win the conference crown with four first-place votes and 76 points, while Southern Maine (67) and Saint Joseph's (Maine) (58) rounded out the top three. The Huskies also garnered four first-place nods, with the Monks garnering one first-place vote.

THE COURSE
Three different courses cover the 180 country club with all three courses holding a 71 par.

RAMS RUNDOWN
Suffolk has won three of its four invitationals this fall behind strong play from its underclassman. Demetrois Stamouli started the season off with an 80 and turned in his best collegiate performance in the Rams' head-to-head match at Eastern Nazarene carding a 79 to take the individual title and lead Suffolk to victory. Owen Boggini notched a 78 at the EC Saints Invitational, the lowest score by a Suffolk player this season. 

WHAT'S NEXT?
Suffolk heads out one more time in 2016 when the Rams compete for the NEIGA Championship Oct. 22-24 at the Captains Golf Course in Brewster, Massachusetts.
