Men’s Golf Picked Seventh in GNAC Championship Poll

BOSTON – On the cusps of the 2016 GNAC Tournament, the conference released the championship coaches' poll with the Suffolk men's golf team selected seventh by a vote of the league's nine head coaches. 

The Rams picked up 25 points to finish ahead of Emmanuel (20) and Albertus Magnus (12). The five-time reigning GNAC Champion Rhode Island College is once again favored to win the conference crown with four first-place votes and 76 points, while Southern Maine (67) and Saint Joseph's (Maine) (58) rounded out the top three. The Huskies also garnered four first-place nods, with the Monks garnering one first-place vote. 

UMass Dartmouth (57), Johnson & Wales (46) and Worcester State (44) finished ahead of the Rams in fourth through sixth, respectively.

Suffolk has taken the links four times this season and won three of its invitationals. The freshman class has led the Rams this season with Owen Boggini and Demetrois Stamouli each being tabbed GNAC Corvias Rookie of the Week October 10 and September 19, respectively. 

The conference crown will be up for grabs Oct. 15-16 at the Gorham Country Club in Gorham, Maine.
