BOSTON – Suffolk men's golfer Owen Boggini picked up his first weekly honor of his collegiate career as the freshman grabbed GNAC Corvias Rookie of the Week, the league office announced Monday afternoon. 

Boggini paced Suffolk to its third first-place finish of the season at the EC Saints Invitational Oct. 4. The freshman from Tolland, Connecticut, carded a 36 on the first nine and a 42 on the second to finish second overall in the 19-golfer field, just one stroke behind the individual winner (77). 

The honor is the first for Boggini and second for Suffolk this season as Demetrois Stamouli was named the conference's best rookie over a seven-day stretch earlier this season. 

Boggini and the Rams return to action this weekend as the conference crown is up for grabs Oct. 15-16 at the Gorham Country Club in Gorham, Maine.
