BOSTON – The Suffolk men's golf team will step out on the course for the first time in 2016 Wednesday, Sept. 14 as the Rams tee-off at the Emmanuel Invitational at the William J. Devine Golf Course at Franklin Park at 12 p.m.

THE COURSE
William J. Devine Golf Course at Franklin Park was established October 26, 1986 and is the second oldest public golf course in the nation behind Van Cortlandt Park in the Bronx borough of New York City.

William J. Devine Golf Course at Franklin Park is the place where the leading figures of golf converge in history: The player who won America's first professional match became the first head professional here (Willie Campbell); the youngster who ushered the American game to the forefront of the world stage honed his craft here (Bobby Jones); the world's premier golf architect re-designed the layout here (Donald J. Ross).

THE COMPETITION
Four teams will tee-off Wednesday afternoon including GNAC member and host Emmanuel. Daniel Webster and Mitchell will also take the green alongside the Rams. 

RUNDOWN ON THE RAMS
Five Rams return to the links from a year ago including Suffolk's top golfers in senior Patrick Hambleton and sophomore Stephen Ferrante. Seven newcomers have joined the Rams contingent this season looking to improve upon an eighth-place finish at the GNAC Tournament in 2015. 

WHAT'S NEXT
Suffolk will use its time on the historical course wisely as it will be back at Franklin Park in two Weeks for the EC Saints Invite Wednesday, Oct. 4. Before returning to Franklin Park, the Rams will head to the Hickory Ridge Country Club in Amherst, Massachusetts this weekend for the two-day Blazers Fall Invitational.
