Golf Competes at RIC Spring Invitational

PROVIDENCE, R.I. – In its first spring tournament of the year, the Suffolk golf team finished 15th out of 16 teams at the RIC Invitational held at the Valley Country Club Friday afternoon. 

The second round action, scheduled for Saturday afternoon, was cancelled due to inclement weather. 

Over 80 golfers took the course at the event and five wore blue-and-gold representing Suffolk. Matt Rosenberg land Nick Cammarano each carded an 83 to land in a tie for 41st.

Stephen Ferrante was the third Ram to finish as the freshman put together a score of 90 to finish 71st. Marcos Baistrocchi and Dan Caissie rounded out Suffolk's competitors with a 92 and 93, respectively. 

Rhode Island College, the invitational's host, won the event with a team score of 315, while the second team, Worcester State, finished just two points behind. 

Suffolk's spring schedule continues this weekend at the 2016 Westport Hampton Inn Spring Invitational.
