Men’s Golf Wraps Up Season at NEIGA Championships

BREWSTER, Mass. – The Suffolk golf team took to the links at The Captains Course in Brewester, Massachusetts with 21 colleges and universities across New England and New York for the 81st Annual New England Intercollegiate Golf Association (NEIGA) Championship and its season finale.

The Rams finished the two-day competition with 668 strokes to place 19th among the 22 Division III teams in the field. For the second straight year Rhode Island College won the event with 618 strokes, followed by Salem State (624), Babson (624), Nichols (626), Southern Maine (629) and fellow GNAC member the University of Saint Joseph's of Maine (629). 

Stephen Ferrante was the Rams' top finisher, posting 80's each day out for a total of 160, putting the freshman in a tie for 41 out of 112 golfers. Senior Matt Rosenberg tallied an 80 followed by an 85 to register a 165, closely followed by junior Mark Fusco with a 170 after shooting an 81 and an 89. 

Junior Nick Cammarano and junior Patrick Hambleton rounded out the golfers in blue-and-gold. Cammarano posted a 178 while Hambleton shot a 180.
