Golf Places Eighth at GNAC Championships

NORTH DARTMOUTH, Mass. – The Suffolk golf team shot a collective 706 to claim eighth at the 2015 GNAC Men's Golf Championship Sunday afternoon at the Allendale Country Club hosted by UMass Dartmouth. 

Rhode Island College won its fifth straight team team with 635 points, while Worcester State was the runner-up with a 644. The host Corsairs finished third with a 649. Johnson & Wales shot a 654 and Saint Joseph's College of Maine carded a 664 to round out the top five. 

Junior Mark Fusco started the competition with an 82 and finished the second day with an 88 to finish in the top-25 with 170 for 24th. 

Matt Rosenberg placed 32nd overall with a 177, while Stephen Ferrante was one point behind the senior at 178 to land in a  tie for 33rd. 

Junior Patrick Hambleton turned in a 181 performance for 38th with rookie Daniel Caissie's 198 for 43rd rounding out the golfers in blue-and-gold. 

Suffolk will take to the links once more in 2015 as the Rams head to Captains Golf Course in Brewster, Massachusetts for the NEIGA Championships next weekend.
