Tim Benedetto Named Second Team All-Conference for Golf

Senior Tim Benedetto (Peabody, Mass.) placed as a second team All-Conference selection by the Great Northeast Athletic Conference (GNAC) for his performance in this weekend's conference championship tournament.

Benedetto placed sixth overall in the field of 40 players as his two day combined score was a 147.

Benedetto finished day two completing the 18-hole course on par with a score of 70. He was just one of three players to reach par in a day during the two-day event.

After completing day one with a score of 77, Benedetto completed day two which included an eagle on hole seven and three birdies on holes 11, 12 and 14.

Suffolk placed fifth overall in the event with a team score of 618.

Rhode Island College won their fourth consecutive GNAC Tournament with the overall top team score of 587. The Anchormen's Jonathan Cooper rounded out the two-day event with the best individual score of 142.

Suffolk University hosted this year's GNAC Golf Tournament at Ponkapoag Golf Course in Canton. Head Men's Basketball Coach Adam Nelson served as the 2014 GNAC Tournament Director.

Suffolk will round out their 2014 fall schedule this upcoming weekend as they travel down to Cape Cod to play in the New England Intercollegiate Golf Association (NEIGA) championship hosted by Captain's Golf Course in Brewster.
