Robertson Named EAST-COMM February Athlete of the Month

EAST-COMM RELEASE

BOSTON – Keenan Robertson of the Suffolk men's basketball team has been tabbed EAST-COMM February Athlete of the Month, the regional organization announced Thursday. He shares the honor with Monmouth's swimmer Jensen Ritter.

EAST-COMM recognizes one male and female student-athlete from its member schools every month. Sports Information Directors of EAST-COMM member schools were able to nominate one male and female student-athletes from their respective institutions following outstanding athletic performances in the month of February.

Robertson, a senior from Rochester, New York, left all he had on the hardwood in his final month of collegiate play. In 10 games played over February, the 6-foot-4 small forward averaged 27.5 points per game behind an impressive 98-of-162 (.605) from the field and 24-of-44 (.545) showing from 3-point land. He also shot 72.7 percent from the three throw line, while averaging 5.9 rebounds per game and 3.0 assists per outing. For his efforts that helped push Suffolk to the Conference of England (CNE) Championship contest appearance, he was a two-time CNE Men's Basketball Player of the Week and became the first-ever Rams to earn a spot on the D3hoops.com Team of the Week February 18.

On top of these accolades, Robertson was selected as the CNE Tournament Most Outstanding Player after averaging 33.7 points in the tournament behind a 43-point semifinal showing in the 96-85 victory over Endicott and a 36-point effort against Western New England in the title tilt.

Robertson is the third NCAA Division III student-athlete recognized with the monthly award this season as Carnegie Mellon's men's basketball's Justin Allen received the nod in December/January and Katie Sullivan of Johns Hopkins's women's soccer team earned the title for November.

Robertson's award shelf is quickly becoming the most decorated in Suffolk's men's basketball's history. He is the only Ram in program history to hold three first-team all-conference accolades and has left his mark on the program in third on the all-time scoring list with 1,846 career points.
