
BOSTON – Every player provided at least two points to power Suffolk men's basketball to a convincing 105-65 Conference of New England (CNE) triumph over Nichols Saturday afternoon at Larry E. and Michael S. Smith Court.

HOW IT HAPPENED
Down 7-5, Suffolk rattled off a 12-0 run to grab a 17-7 lead that forced Nichols into a timeout at the 14:24 mark.
Momentum remained in the Rams favor out of the huddle and the blue-and-gold burst ahead 26-9 to grab a 17-point cushion, 26-9, at the midway point.
The Bison battled back and pulled within 11, 29-18, with 6:31 to go before halftime.
It was all Suffolk from there as it closed the quarter on a 19-3 stretch to take a comfortable 51-23 cushion into the locker room.
The Rams did not let up in the second half as it lengthened its lead to 31 five minutes in and hit the 40-point plateau, 97-57, which allowed Suffolk to put on cruise control to the decisive, 105-65, win.
STATISTICALLY SPEAKING
- Keenan Robertson registered 20 points behind an 8-for-13 performance from the floor. He added seven caroms, five helpers, two steals and one block.
- Cole LeVangie logged 19 points on a 7-for-10 showing from the field, which included a 4-for-7 effort from 3-point land. His stat line also featured five boards, four steals and two dimes.
- Nick Verdile contributed 15 points, five rebounds, four assists and one takeaway.
- Jake Gomez and Danny Yardemian both had nine points. Yardemian set-up eight shots and pulled down five boards, while Gomez dished out three dimes and two caroms.
- Suffolk shot 61.0 percent (36-59) from the floor, 51.9 percent (14-27) from behind-the-arc and 82.6 percent (19-23) from the foul line.
NOTEWORTHY
- Suffolk snapped a six-game skid against Nichols, defeating the Bison for the first time since Feb. 14, 2022.
- The Rams are now 38-20 all-time against the Bison.
- In Boston, Suffolk is 22-10 in the all-time series.
- Suffolk is 4-7 versus the Bison in the Jeff Juron era.
- Yardemian matched a career-high eight assists.
